Dão

Located in central Portugal, the Dão wine region is known for producing elegant and well-structured wines. Surrounded by mountains that protect the vineyards from strong Atlantic influences, the region benefits from a temperate climate and granite-rich soils, ideal for growing high-quality grapes.
Dão is especially famous for the noble red variety Touriga Nacional, which produces refined wines with floral aromas, dark fruit notes, and excellent aging potential. The region also produces fresh and aromatic white wines from varieties such as Encruzado. With a long winemaking tradition and a strong focus on balance and elegance, Dão is considered one of Portugal’s classic and most respected wine regions
