Douro

The Douro Valley, in northern Portugal, is one of the world’s oldest demarcated wine regions and a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. Its steep terraced vineyards along the Douro River produce the grapes for both the famous Port wines and increasingly acclaimed dry reds and whites. Indigenous varieties such as Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca create wines of depth, structure, and remarkable character.
